Luxury car shoppers looking for the fuel-efficiency and green cred of a hybrid today have only one stop to make: their local Lexus dealer. But if the rumors are true, soon they will have choices.
Autoblog reports that Nissan's luxury division is "said to have a hybrid on the way for 2010, though we're short on details as to which platform(s) will be so equipped."
Automobile Magazine notes, "Nissan currently sources its hybrid technology from Toyota, and the only application is in the Nissan Altima hybrid." However,"Infiniti's new hybrid system is likely to compare to Lexus', which provides a better balance of performance and fuel economy rather than strictly improving fuel economy."
