Chevy Volt to be a Sporty Ride?

The highly anticipated Chevy Volt may be fun to drive, compared to hybrids currently on the market, if the engineers building it are to be believed.

In a recent chat on GM's Fastlane blog, Volt Chief Engineer Andrew Farah was asked, "How does [the Volt] drive and how does it compare to other hybrids such as the Insight and Prius?"

Farah responded, "Our chassis is much more sporty than either of the other vehicles."

Edmunds Inside Line notes that Farah "mentioned that the Volt still needed some tweaks," particularly regarding "ride height, spring rates, etc." But, Edmunds says, Farah made it "clear that the Volt would be set up as a sporty rival to the gas-electric Honda Insight and Toyota Prius." Farah did not, however, compare the Volt's performance to that of a traditional, gasoline-powered car.
