The Ford Focus didn't last long as king of the hill.  Reuters reports, "Sales under the U.S. government's ‘cash for clunkers' auto incentive topped 180,000 with Toyota Motor Corp overtaking Ford Motor Co with the top-selling vehicle, officials said Wednesday."

Autoblog explains, "Toyota's Corolla - the best selling car in the history of the world - has reportedly taken the crown," outselling "the long-in-the-tooth Ford Focus" under the government's trade-in program.  "Ford's price leader drops to number two and the Honda Civic has shifted into third place. Toyota has two other cars rounding out the top five, the Prius and the Camry."

Updated figures from the Department of Transportation show small changes to the top ten Clunkers as well.  The Ford Explorer remains the most common trade-in under the program, but, Jalopnik notes, the Chevy Blazer is "moving up because, frankly, there are only so many 2WD Explorers left."
