Dodge has issued a recall notice for about 85,000 2007 Dodge Nitro SUVs, in order to correct a defect that may render the vehicles’ windshield wipers inoperable.
In a recall notice filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the automaker explains, “The windshield wiper system may experience a condition over time where high usage of the variable pause wiper function (delay mode) may eventually affect primary wiper function, rendering the wiper system inoperable.”
Dodge dealers will replace a portion of the wiper system in an attempt to correct the defect, free of charge. Owners should receive a recall notice in the mail this month, but those who wish to make early repair arrangements may contact Dodge at (800) 835 – 1403.
